eteeController makes VR ‘feel real’ at AWE

June 28, 2023
Our XR controller proved popular in Santa Clara

TG0’s eteeController emerged triumphant from a prestigious three-day expo in California.

AWE is one of the leading XR events in the world and a must-attend for anyone looking to explore, learn or collaborate in the worlds of extended reality, augmented reality and virtual reality. Our team took our revolutionary eteeController to Santa Clara for the second year running, and once again impressed industry influencers with the intuitive, immersive feel of the controllers.

Marco Budde of Mixed Reality TV was among those who tried a virtual reality demo at our booth. While playing with eteeController, he said: “To be honest the finger tracking, the accuracy, is very, very, good. So it’s far ahead of the Valve Index finger tracking and… it actually feels like ‘real’.

“They [the controllers] are so light. The controllers are so light and now I am throwing grenades all over the place and it feels very good, it works very good. I’m a little bit surprised to be honest, I didn’t expect that this would work so well.

“I really like the finger tracking. This is really, really, good.”

Mixed Reality TV suggested eteeController would be perfect in a VR chat scenario, but the controllers fired-up other ideas too.

Jakub ‘Kuba’ Kamecki, TG0’s business lead for eteeController, said: “We were overwhelmed with interest at AWE. People wanted to talk about diverse use cases for eteeController, including in academic fields. Specialist training scenarios were also a hot topic, with much excitement about how eteeController could add value to teaching scenarios.

“We also fielded a huge amount of visits from potential technology partners, many of whom have seen a lot of VR headsets launched but feel controller options are limited. They were incredibly excited by the accuracy and versatility of eteeController.”

Our team’s show visit was also an ideal opportunity to take stock of how the XR industry is evolving and maturing. Of particular interest was the HTC Inside-out tracker, that can be used with OpenXR headsets, increasing the eteeController addressable market while giving etee enthusiasts more choice.

We also unveiled TG0’s novel demo-set, which gave show attendees a chance to try out our game-changing touch and pressure sensing technology.

Kuba said: “XR and HMI is changing fast, but the show re-confirmed to us that we have a unique technology offering that people love to use. We’re expecting great things to come from the show."
