TG0 Wins Best in British Tech Award

TG0 Wins Prestigious 'Deep Tech Innovation' Award for Revolutionary AI-Sensing Materials at the highly-esteemed Best in British Tech Awards. The company was recognised for its groundbreaking technology at the exclusive GBx Gala in San Francisco in front of a powerful audience including former US Vice President Al Gore.

The Winning Innovation: Embedding AI into Sensing

TG0, co-founded by Imperial College London alumni Ming Kong and Dr. Liucheng Guo, was honoured for its pioneering work in smart materials. The company is developing AI-powered sensing materials that transform everyday polymers into intelligent, pressure- and motion-sensitive interfaces.

The win celebrates a crucial breakthrough: TG0 is the first company of its kind to embed AI directly into sensing materials. This revolutionary approach eliminates the need for traditional mechanical buttons or complex electronic assemblies, creating seamless and intuitive user experiences.  This technology is set to redefine how we interact with products across the automotive, consumer electronics, and gaming industries by making surfaces themselves the interface.

A Word from the Co-Founder

Reflecting on the journey from academia to industry leader, co-founder and CTO Dr. Liucheng Guo shared the vision behind the company:

“After graduation, we wanted to take the creativity and technical excellence we developed at Imperial and apply it to something tangible - technology that people could actually touch and feel. [...] That ambition became TG0: a company built to make interaction more natural, sustainable, and seamlessly human.”

Celebrating British Tech on a Global Stage

The award was presented at the historic Julia Morgan Ballroom during the GBx Gala, a key event within the influential TECH WEEK by a16z. The gala serves as a vital bridge connecting the UK’s leading founders and investors with the epicentre of global technology.

The event celebrates Britain's rich history of shaping the future, from the first computer algorithm to today's breakthroughs in AI. TG0's victory firmly places its smart material and haptics technology within this powerful legacy, highlighting it as a key player in the next wave of deep tech innovation.
